Upgrading the Local Ergodic Theorem for planar semi-dispersing billiards
The Local Ergodic Theorem (also known as the ‘Fundamental Theorem’) gives sufficient conditions under which a phase point has an open neighborhood that belongs (mod 0) to one ergodic component. This theorem is a key ingredient of many proofs of ergodicity for billiards and, more generally, for smooth hyperbolic maps with singularities. However, the proof of that theorem relies upon a delicate a...
متن کاملA semi-classical K.A.M. theorem
We consider a semi-classical completely integrable system defined by a ~-pseudodifferential operator Ĥ on the torus T. In order to study perturbed operators of the form Ĥ + ~K̂ , where K̂ is an arbitrary pseudodifferential operator and κ > 0, we prove the conjugacy to a suitable normal form. This is then used to construct a large number of quasimodes.

متن کاملThe Ergodic Theorem
Measure-preserving systems arise in a variety of contexts, such as probability theory, information theory, and of course in the study of dynamical systems. However, ergodic theory originated from statistical mechanics. In this setting, T represents the evolution of the system through time. Given a measurable function f : X → R, the series of values f(x), f(Tx), f(T x)... are the values of a phy...
متن کاملON THE LIFTS OF SEMI-RIEMANNIAN METRICS
In this paper, we extend Sasaki metric for tangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold and Sasaki-Mok metric for the frame bundle of a Riemannian manifold [I] to the case of a semi-Riemannian vector bundle over a semi- Riemannian manifold. In fact, if E is a semi-Riemannian vector bundle over a semi-Riemannian manifold M, then by using an arbitrary (linear) connection on E, we can make E, as a...
